About my practice

Therapy can help you to replace negative and unproductive thought patterns with more present and beneficial ones. Treatment focuses on exploring your thoughts, emotions, and interpersonal relationships to help you gain greater clarity and self-awareness. It will be tailored to your individual needs, enabling you to care of your symptoms and to improve your wellbeing. Both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy are available.

The goals of psychodynamic therapy include, but extend beyond, symptom remission. Successful treatment should not only relieve symptoms (i.e., get rid of something) but also foster the positive presence of psychological capacities and resources. Depending on the person and the circumstances, these might include the capacity to have more fulfilling relationships, make more effective use of one’s talents and abilities, maintain a realistically based sense of self-esteem, tolerate a wider range of affect, have more satisfying sexual experiences, understand self and others in more nuanced and sophisticated ways, and face life’s challenges with greater freedom and flexibility.

Fluent English speaking and cross-cultural experience
I lived abroad in the U.S. (North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois) and Europe (Germany, Spain) at different life stages: as a foreign exchange student and as an expat for my job. These experiences have enriched both my cross-cultural background and my understanding of the difficulties in adjusting to a new environment may bring. I currently work with foreign students and international workers who require individual support in Rome.

I am a clinical psychologist and therapist trained at the International Institute for Psychoanalytic Research and Training of Health Professionals, Rome. My clinical specialties include treatment of adolescents and adults seeking counseling for stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, mood disorders. Expertise in addressing life transitions, adjustment issues, anger, self-esteem, relational breakdowns, and addictions.
